# What is a Slush?

## Definition: Non-carbonated slush drinks are comprised mostly of artificial fruit-based flavors and water.

Carbonated slush drinks are commonly based on popular soda syrups such as cola and root beer, and incorporate overrun for a fluffier, lighter texture.

Slush drinks appeal to people of all ages. Kids love them all year round, and adults never outgrow the icy, fruity refreshment.

For years, slush drinks have offered retailers an alternative to soft drinks.

Operators enjoy the higher profit margins and the fact that slush drinks are not available at home, resulting in a “captive” audience. Offer “self serve” slush to your patrons to profit from the exciting make-your-own market.
