The function of the day/night switch (aka Standby Mode) is to keep the mix in both the barrel and hopper cool enough so that it does not spoil, but not at serving temperature.
This helps to prevent product breakdown during periods of inactivity. While in Standby Mode, the unit will cycle on and run for 45 seconds every 10 minutes.
Do not attempt to dispense product while in Standby Mode.
